History of ErasertownUSA

The EraserTownUSA blog was created during the 2007-2008 school year. During this year, as in other years, I had exceptionally creative second graders. But this particular group of children displayed their creativity in a unique way. Their desks became what is now known as EraserTownUSA. They took their small pencil-top erasers and made them into "people." They collected small condiment cups from the cafeteria, Post-It notes, and anything else they could find that would become their little towns. They created stories about the people and their towns. If they were required to sit at their desks, they "chose" instead to play in EraserTownUSA rather listen to a lecture or work on a paper. Interesting? Funny? Creative? And why is it EraserTownUSA? Because there was already a blog entitled "Erasertown." That, to me, is also very interesting!!!
